Americans Now Need Larger Coffins

Because of the skyrocketing obesity rates, normal coffins are no longer large enough for many Americans.

In case you were wondering, a standard coffin measures between 24 and 27 inches wide – but manufacturers are receiving requests for coffins as wide as 52 inches, capable of fitting up to a 1,000-pound person.

Unfortunately for the family who has to pay for the funeral, the extra materials for the larger coffins bump the cost $3,000 to $4,000 more. That’s a few thousand bucks less inheritance. (Daily Mail)
