Is there a special teacher making a difference for you or your child?
We want to know about them!
February 2013 Teacher of the Month
Mrs. Susan Delisle from
Mrs. Delisle has been the most kind hearted teacher! My son Connor is new this year to her school. He went from a small class at his last school (only 11 students) to her class of 23. His first few weeks he was totally lost. He is a shy kid and had trouble making friends. Mrs. Delisle took the time to encourage him to participate in class. In the past few months I have seen an amazing change in him that would never have been possible with out her quite encouragement. Class D2, as his second grade class is called, has had a lot of challenges this year. With new students coming in through out the year and Mrs. Delisle has done an amazing job to make each child fell safe and welcomed. When we first moved here, we toured the school and got to look at the classrooms that he might be assigned to and when we walked into D2 we knew just by the way she had everything ready that she was the teacher we wanted for out son. She has everything organized and stays late into the evenings, giving her own time to talk with parents, to call or email anytime there is something to discuss. I have never met a more dedicated teacher. Connor is always happy to tell us what stories they read that day and to tell us about the “fun lessons” she taught in class. For really shy kids to feel as safe as she makes them feel is amazing! She has been an inspiration to our son and to all the kids in her class.
So on behalf of all the students and parents at H.E.S.- D2 We hope you will consider Mrs Delisle for the Teacher of the Month.
Nominated by: Rachel Delay mother of student Connor
January KIX teacher of the month with Kera Burke !
Mrs. Elisa Baird-O\'Brien
Soule Road School
Reason for Entry: Mrs. B.O.B. (as the children call her) is a wonderful teacher. She truly cares about each and every student. My son was new to the school this year and she called him at home, to ask us if we had any concerns for Tim about the new school year or if he had any. She keeps in diligent contact through email, if we have any questions or concerns. When she meets with my son about any issues, she emails us to let us know what was discussed and that she addressed the problem. I have never felt more at ease with a teacher that my son was getting the best education possible. He had a tough time last year with a teacher and he goes to school with a smile on his face each day now. It is a truly positive learning enviroment for my son. I feel no child will ever be left behind. If they are struggling Mrs. B.O.B. will take the time to make sure they get it. Just from speaking with her, you can tell how much she loves teaching and she loves the children. She truly
deserves this award.
KIX TEACHER OF THE MONTH WITH MATT GREGORY !
Teacher Name: Mr. Greg Bertsch
School: East St Elementary
Reason for Entry: Mr. Bertsch is a phenomenal teacher. He relates to each student on an individual level. He hasn’t always been a teacher, he realized his calling a little late in life but we are all so happy that he did because teaching our kids is exactly what he was meant to do! He is constantly doing different projects and assignments to keep the kids interested in different subjects. He finds educational ways to make learning fun yet informational. My son comes home everyday with a new story about the great things he learned and what a great day he had with Mr. Bertsch. When we were listening to 93.1 on his way home from school he heard the commercial to nominate and he immediately yelled that we had to send Mr. Bertsch's name in. When my seven year old can recognize a genuine human being that teaches strictly because he loves to do it, makes that a teacher of a lifetime in my book. I sincerely hope you consider Mr. Bertsch he is a wonderful teacher that has made a huge impact on
