Buyer beware or buyer be dumb!
Apparently, there's a scam going on in Buenos Aires, Argentina where people are buying what they THINK are poodles but they turn out to be... wait for it...
Ferrets on steroids.
While that could be a great name for a punk rock band, it's actually a problem occuring at a large marketplace in Argentina. No, really.
(La Salada is described as the largest informal marketplace in South America. It's also described as South America's largest black market.)
First off, it's terribly cruel treatment of animals. Ferrets are reportedly doped up on steroids from birth so they increase in size. There are some really shady people at the heart of this scam.
What's also pretty alarming is that there actually are people in Argentina that don't know what a real poodle looks like. The side by side comparison just isn't even close!
The whole, disturbing story is here.

This is an oldie but a goodie. This particular phishing scam has been around for several years and is apparently alive and well. I have been randomly selected as a winner of One Million British Pounds (£1,000,000.00)
Convert it to US dollars and it's $1.5 million!! Not bad, huh?!
Well, there is the whole "scam" part of it... where none of this is true and some shady characters in a foreign country are trying to get personal info from me to commit identity theft and likely drain my bank account.
But hey, other than that, it seems legit! :)
