If you are looking for a stunningly beautiful kitty who is equally lovely on the inside, then Bella Swan could be the best friend you are looking to adopt. Bella Swan has been at Dakin long enough for us to know her very well. And what a love! She is the first kitty to come to the door to say hello. And she’s all over visitors. Bella Swan is what we call a social eater. As soon as you pet her, she begins to nibble on food. Some cats just eat better in the busy adoption center when they are loved and have company. She’s been in the same room with other cats and done fine but she has let them know who is boss. And it ain’t them! J
If Bella Swan sounds like she might be the pal you’ve been looking for, your timing couldn’t be better. Beginning today through Sunday, we are having a special adoption event. That’s right! $5 Felines is back! Dakin has many wonderful cats in need of new homes. What’s better than adopting a four-legged feline family member to love? How about adopting a new best friend who is already spayed or neutered; is microchipped; has received age-appropriate vaccinations and testing; who goes home with a collar and id tag, and a starter kit of food…all for just $5!
Why do we offer cats for adoption at such a low cost? To save lives. It’s that simple. We rely on adoption donations to help support the many programs and services that Dakin provides but at critical times of the year, we have more cats coming in than going home. Soon we reach capacity. In order to save lives, we offer incentive programs to help people thinking about adopting to actually take that step. That’s what $5 Felines is all about: SAVING LIVES!
Can’t adopt? We are happy to have donations of canned or dry cat food to help us. Canned food is used feed our sheltered cats and dry cat food used for our Pet Food Aid program.
I am sweet guy that sometimes gets nervous with strangers. I haven’t had a lot of experience around a variety of people, including small children, but if you could kindly use a slow gentle approach with me, in no time I will be snuggling up to you. Arriving at the busy adoption center was really hard for me. I stopped eating. But, thanks to one of the administrative staff, I got to spend time in a quiet office yesterday and it’s made a big difference for me. I had a whole banquet laid out before me…and guess what…I began eating. I had a cute little bed to from which I could supervise the work load too. It was fun!
I lived on a farm and I would do well in a quiet home. Older children would likely be a good match. I’d likely do fine with a calm, confident dog companion. And, I lived with cats in my previous home. I would love to go for a walk or go to a quiet area and let’s get to know each other. If you’d like to know more about me or meet me in person, come visit me at Dakin. If you don’t see me, I could be managing one of the offices upstairs…so just ask for me. I’ll be right down to meet you. P.S. I’ve included a photo of me on duty. Cute, huh?
Domestic Short Hair (Wombat’s fur is a little longer)
We are two adorable kittens who are ready to go home. We were part of an unwanted litter. Dakin helped us by getting us into foster care until we were big enough to be neutered and go home. And now we are! We are ready to begin our new lives today. Every kitten adopted from Dakin goes home spayed /neutered, microchipped, receives age appropriate vaccinations, a collar and id tag and a starter kit of food. In other words, we’re off to the best possible start beginning our new lives!
Dakin has many cute kittens like us just waiting for you!
