Are you looking for a quiet companion who will sit by your side and gaze at you adoringly? Come meet YaYa who has been in the adoption center since October 25th. Someone left YaYa and her three feline friends in an apartment. The next door neighbors were nice enough to bring everyone to Dakin.
YaYa gets overlooked because she’s a more mature and demur middle age kitty but if you pet her when she’s curled up in her favorite box, she will happily purr and purr and purr for visitors. YaYa could stay like that forever. That is all she really wants is a space to call her own that is warm and friendly. Could this be your lap?
The day after Christmas a wonderful family visited Dakin and said “We want to find the cat who needs the most help, and we want to help her. We want to pay her adoption fee, to help her get adopted. Which cat needs us the most?”. Ya Ya is the cat who needed them most! As our longest resident; YaYa has been waiting for a new home for two months, far longer than any other cat.
The staff took the family to meet with YaYa, who is currently residing in one of the colony rooms and they agreed she was the one! Daughter Sammi (pictured with snoozing YaYa) contributed $15, the teenage son had saved up $40, the family had gathered $10 in coins throughout the house, and mom kicked in the rest – a true family effort.
Mom said, “We can’t adopt another, but we still wanted to help with an act of kindness.” What a great family!
